Zera is a mobile application provided by Yaves LTD for language learning through live voice rooms and related features. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you under applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.
2. What We Collect
When you use Zera, we may collect:
- Account information, such as your email, username, authentication provider details, profile details, preferences, and account settings.
- Profile and user content, such as display names, profile photos, bios, languages you are learning or speak, learning-related interests, country, text, images, and voice content you share in voice rooms, reports, and block actions.
- Device and technical data, such as device identifiers, IP, operating system, app version, language, approximate location derived from technical signals, logs, and crash data.
- Usage data, such as feature interactions, participation in voice rooms, moderation events, subscription or purchase status, and diagnostic information.
- Third-party data from services that support login, analytics, payments, infrastructure, push notifications, crash reporting, and moderation.
3. Why We Use Data
We use personal data to:
- Create, authenticate, and manage user accounts.
- Provide voice rooms, language practice features, profiles, room discovery, moderation, reporting, blocking, subscription, and in-app purchase features.
- Protect users, prevent abuse, enforce our Terms of Use, investigate reports, and maintain platform safety.
- Improve app reliability, diagnose crashes, understand feature usage, and develop new features.
- Send service-related messages, security notices, and app notifications where permitted.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
4. Data Storage and Retention
- We keep account data while your account remains active or as needed to provide the app.
- Content and activity from voice rooms (including voice, text, and related metadata) may be retained for up to 12 months for service operation, moderation, and abuse prevention, unless a longer period is required for safety, dispute resolution, or legal reasons.
- Technical logs, IPs, device identifiers, moderation records, and security data are kept only as long as needed for security, abuse prevention, analytics, legal compliance, and service reliability.
- When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data unless retention is required for legal, safety, fraud prevention, or legitimate business purposes.
- Data may be processed in the European Union and other regions where our service providers operate, using appropriate safeguards where required.
5. Legal Bases
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data based on:
- Contract, when processing is needed to provide Zera and manage your account.

Zera may request device permissions such as notifications, photos, microphone, or camera when needed for voice rooms and other app features. You can manage these permissions through your device settings.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted in the app or on our website. Continued use of Zera after an update means the revised policy applies.
